The RIM Oversize Overmass Vehicle Movement Scheme in NSW, led by Transport for NSW and the NHVR, monitors Class 1 Oversize Overmass (OSOM) vehicles on the state's road network. The scheme aims to reduce the need for frequent OSOM permits by allowing operators to request permits with extended durations. The initiative seeks to minimize permit applications, provide insights into OSOM vehicle movements, and generate aggregated reports for TfNSW and local governments.
For Laden permits, a 12-month permit can be obtained (instead of 3 months)
For Unladen permits, a 3-year permit can be obtained (instead of 12 months)
RIM is required for all eligible vehicles of this scheme.
Apply for an OSOM permit and select the extended duration option.
