Victoria (VIC)
The RIM High Productivity Livestock Vehicle (HPLV) Monitoring scheme, administered by the Department of Transport and Planning Victoria (DTP), allows Class 3 High Productivity Livestock Vehicles to operate on the Victorian road network through the Victoria High Productivity Livestock Vehicle Pre-Approved Permit Scheme.
Class 3 HPLVs are combinations that exceed 26 meters in length, are designed to carry livestock, and have design and axle spacings equivalent to High Productivity Freight Vehicles (HPFVs). They must also meet other specific requirements defined by DTP. Operators can choose to run their vehicles as Class 3 HPLVs, providing an alternative to Class 2 HPFVs, with the confidence of obtaining equivalent access through a Class 3 permit, without needing approval under the Performance-Based Standards (PBS) Scheme.
Regulatory Telematics Requirements:
- Enrolment in either RIM or TMA is required for all eligible vehicles of this scheme.
